Be Cautious When Ordering and Read Reviews I have been using wpagen for years and find it’s the easiest and best out there…until this year. It is my fault as I didn’t pay attention when ordering and didn’t realize I was getting a digital version only. I sat here waiting for my disc to arrive. Once I realized my mistake I figured out how to download to my computer that has hosting 10. It downloaded fine but when I went to open the program I got a message that my computer didn’t have the system necessary to open. Finding any help from customer service was ridiculous so I gave up and ordered the disc at yet another $50. I’m hoping that the disc will work but why is this so different from past years and why can’t you exchange the digital version to a disc without having to pay yet again. RIDICULOUS and I won’t be caught again. BUYER BEWARE!

No Customer Service At All! I have used wpagen since 2000. I had no problems until the 2019 wpagen year. I have Massachusetts retirement earnings that are wpagenable to federal and exempt for state. Last year, a glitch showed up in the Massachusetts wpagen that prevented e file from going through. A schedule pulled the exempt earnings from the federal area and the exempt earnings from the state. The help desk fixed the problem with an update that took over a week. The same glitch showed up this year. I can’t get any help this year, I have called several times and because I have an x in my email, I can’t get connected through the voice prompts. I paid for the e file and it won’t go and it’s been weeks. I will NEVER buy wpagen again! Beware if you have a problem, you may get help at all, just a hang up.

Had to buy a competing product. I’ve been a loyal wpagen user for years, but had to abandon it and buy a competing product for wpagen year 2020. I refinanced my mortgage this year, and had multiple 1098 forms to enter for the same property. wpagen processed this information incorrectly and if I had submitted using wpagen I would have missed out on a significant deduction/return. When I went to the wpagen forums, to my dismay I found many complaints about the same work last wpagen year (2019), and I confirmed it wasn’t user work. Recommendation on the forum from wpagen reps was to make a manual calculation as workaround and enter incorrect info to get around the bug. I bought a competing product (H+R Block) for half the price I paid for TT, and it handled this scenario correctly, and my return was (correctly) much higher. Would not recommend wpagen if you refinanced or your mortgage changed hands this year and you have multiple 1098s.

However, it kept Freezing again and again when attempting to complete and e-file our state wpagens … The issue as I see it is that intuit developed the wpagen SW on legacy Win platforms, which was not migrated successfully to the new Win10 platform, wpagen season is stress enough without having to work with a subpar product like this … So Intuit, until you fix your faulty product you’ll not be gettingg my business next wpagen season…

For 10 years I’ve been pointing out to the publisher (Intuit?) a big fail with this program that if I hadn’t caught this oversight, it would have cost me over $25,000 in additional wpagens that I was NOT required to pay to the government. As mentioned they’ve been told for 10 years about the screw up that probably has affected perhaps as many as 2000 individuals. So what has this company been focused on? Making sure through lobbying efforts that our federal wpagen system (9000 pages and counting) and state (who knows how may edicts and pages) is complicated and difficult enough so that people WILL buy this program. If you’re aware of its weaknesses it does make preparing ones wpagens MUCH easier – but it could end up costing you 10’s of thousands of dollars. Be aware.

Return Rejected 2x… Cmon wpagen… Why? Abysmal programming. Rejected return twice!. Followed all the recommendations. work testing showed no works, yet my returns are rejected again.
Before that I was charged 2x for State filing as I had to re-enter data due to “failed authorization”. Inept, premature programming.
Either I’ll end up paper-filing or trying HR Block to e-file. best experience in 20 years of use.

And my only option is to purchase the download from another seller -not wpagenstore! wpagen does not support downloads purchased from wpagenstore. This is going to end up costing more than sending my wpagens to a professional. Note: I have used wpagen for approximately 15 years with no problem. I have spent this entire morning trying to find where it is located and finally gave up and decided I would HAVE to order another one. Low and behold once I ordered another copy it took me to my library and there both copies were. I searched under apps, orders, app deliveries, etc. and the order of 12/20 did not show up. Obviously this is a major problem in your bookkeeping. I know you said there was no refund but in this case I think I should be refunded.

Cannot use this hosting I downloaded and installed wpagen website storee 2020w/ Federal and State Forms and Filing on January 16,2020. Everything went fine until I tried to run the program. After six of nine minutes of updating with the mandatory “Updater” , it crashed and gave me a 1603 fatal work work. The wpagen program then closed. I even went to the Inuit Support page and downloaded and installed “manual updates”. I received a message saying they were successfully installed. However, once I tried to run the wpagenstore wpagen program again, it went into the “updater” phase and crashed again. I cannot use this product. I have seen numerous others with the same problem. Will wpagenstore return our money. Or will it expeditiously issue an updated program ? wpagenstore needs to address this problem .

This year 2020), I downloaded it, started to do my wpagens but at several points I received a message that the current information for that section was not yet available from the IRS and that we would “return” to it. I waited almost a week and got the same message. I deleted the program from my computer and reloaded it. Hit the same wall. When I finally got customer service I declined their offer to share my screen with them and requested a refund. I was told that a decision would be made after my complaint was reviewed (within 5-7 days). I received an email stating my case was now “closed” without any additional information. No sign of a refund.

wpagen going downhill avoid this version!!! I’ve been using wpagen hosting based for 10 years plus, last years version was a difficult installation and was the first time ever that there was a issue.
This years is a nightmare, updates are buggy at best, not available to connect, when downloaded don’t install and cycle starts over. Without getting the updates I can’t open the program so it’s useless and trying to get help is impossible. It comes up with a “Find solution” prompt and comes with nothing found. Post a question and zero response in over a week. Doesn’t import previous years information.
This years hosting has more issues than any hosting I have ever experienced which goes back to sloppy floppys and DOS, which I consider myself computer savvy so for those who aren’t it has to be impossible.

I have used wpagen for years, This is ridiculous.
EDIT: After 15 minutes, it spontaneously launched the installer.
I thought I was in the clear… nope.
As I enter information, my return should be growing as we nail down deductions, the child wpagen credit, ect…. but it is stuck at $674. Nothing I do changes this.
I tried the ‘repair’ utility, and it encountered a fatal work. See image.
wpagenstore, I insist on a refund. I have used wpagen for years, this year it is garbage for some reason. I have NO confidence in this program, and I will not rely on it for something as important as my wpagens.

Problems with wpagen Download I have had nothing but problems with the download and was not able to use it. When I type in my activation code it gives a server work problem. When I look online this is a BIG problem and wpagen has not been much help. This problem is now occurring with ALL of the previous wpagen hosting I have downloaded – I could no longer open my 2019 wpagen return. I tried several of the online tips but was NOT willing to disable the virus hosting on my computer to make it work. I am going to see if I can get my money back for this order as I was not able to use it.

Have hosting 10 20H2 – DO NOT BUY Bought end of January 2021 and did not learn until I finally had time to start wpagens in late March, only to learn it don’t work with the update with some recent version of hosting 10 my PC said was needed. After four weeks with Intuitie and Microsoft Help centers saying they “had no idea” the problem I did a Google search and in countless material BOTH knew of this problem and nothing was done. They lied to waste time and not have to give the refund because it’s over the 60 days. All this time and money spent yet I still have NO wpagenS to submit I hope wpagenstore is going to help here before I lose all faith in these business…

Do not buy wpagen website storee 2019 or 2020 – works will not allow a return to be started! 2019 was a Disc. I installed it but it would never open. when I started a new return and work message appeared and asked if I wanted to report the work(I did) I tried many times to make it work and I finally returned it for a refund.
Then ( silly me) I ordered wpagen 2020 to download. Download was Ok, update was ok. Again, tried to start a new return and the same message appeared. After reporting the work, the App ended and I was left to try again. I found some info as many many others are having issues.
this product is clearly defective and a refund should be offered on the downloaded version just like the Disc version. I’m not going to try again.

It would not launch without an internet connection.
Just to be clear, I had updated it already and filed my wpagens.
But could not launch it again w/o an internet connection since it would not launch w/o doing an update.
I can see saying you can’t file w/o an internet connection, or forcing in initial update
But now, I can choose, either never open my file again or agree to an update, which I do not want to do because I want the hosting as it was when I submitted my wpagens.

I should have e-filed the state portion on my own …and NOT through wpagen. I pay the $25 to save me time, but this year after I paid the amount to efile, both refunds for federal & state decreased. Naturally, I wanted to figure out what happened, as I had already checked my return for works. An hour later, after I redid everything (and got the original refund #s) wpagen wants me to pay to efile the state portion AGAIN.
The whole point of me paying to efile the state is to save me the time/aggravation of doing it myself, but now I’ve wasted 3.5 hours fixing Twpagen’s work. I’ve been on hold on/off with customer service for 89 minutes (yes, 1.5 hours!), and she took the most round-about way to try to help. Awful experience!

Close to impossible to use I downloaded it and cannot open it. The product key will DOES WORK. Copy/ Paste DOES WORK in the required fields. Just get an work message. hosting claims that product key (16 digit alpha-numerical) must be entered several times. Then every move you make it seems calls for a different registration and password. I’m not a dumb person. I have a degree in EE and have written my own hosting in the past. But, I’m slowly becoming a violent person: a person so overcome with frustration that I’m afraid to go out in public.
The IRS needs to generate its own wpagen calculating hosting and dump all these private, for profit, parasitic corporations. IRS knows the code. They wrote it!

Cannot even get in, useless, a complete waste of $50, no way to get refund or support See the work, that is literally the ONLY interaction I can have with the hosting, is the work screen when TRYING to start up.
A “repair” through hosting failed to fix it.
A computer restart failed to fix it.
An uninstall and fresh install failed to fix it.
Can’t get to a support screen to fix through Intuit.
So I just wasted the entire price of this hosting, and cannot use it at all, and don’t see a way to make it work, and don’t see a way to get my money back.
And I’ll have to buy something else.

DO NOT BUY THE WRONG VERSION Been using wpagen for years, never had any complaints. This year I had to use the Self employed upgrade since I didnt know the premier couldn’t easily manage that. I had the option to upgrade to that version in the standalone desktop app, but didnt know that the app doesnt update, you need to install a new version. Wouldnt be a big deal but the download link Intuit provides for the upgraded version DIDNT HAVE A LINK! No way to upgrade so i had to file using my web browser, but you cant import your file from the standalone app to the browser based verson! Then i had to pay for the hosting again during filing!

State filing is not free! wpagen claims you get one free state filing; you do not. At the end you have to pay to e-file the state return. You can slow mail it for free but that is not what wpagen is about. The process is easy to follow but don’t be fooled by the one free state offer.

This will not install on my hosting 10 Professional Operating system. I will be returning. After trying to install, I was able to locate several online resources that indicate previous issues installing on hosting 10 Professional. It simply does not install. After talking to wpagen support and trying multiple troubleshooting processes for over an hour, I was told it will not run. I have been using wpagen for decades and I will be returning this product. This is the first time I have ever had an application not install when the system meets the manufacturers specifications for OS, memory, disk space, etc. With the same issues reported for 2019 version, I am disappointed that this was not fixed for 2020. I installed my 2019 version on hosting 7, so I did not have this issue last year.

Horrible experience This was definitiely not the most current version of wpagen for 2020. This was the first time I used wpagenstore to purchase wpagen and I was unable to file my wpagens with using this product and unfortunately had to purchase the “newest” version through the wpagen website. To my fault I did not request a refund for this product in the timeframe that was allotted. This product was also difficult to download and wpagen customer service cannot assist with any issues as it is purchased through a second party. I would not recommend this product from wpagenstore, much better to purchase from the actual website.

Had problems with this download We purchased this download to get an early start with our wpagens. Have been using wpagen for 15 years without a problem, all with using purchased CDs. This time we were told that schedule D was not available. We were unable to download any updates to get schedule D. Spent hours on the phone with wpagen customer service. The person was very nice but was unable to resolve our problem. Finally purchased a cd from Staples, which was delivered the next day. Entire program loaded with no problem. I know that we will only buy wpagen CDs going forward. You may want to consider doing the same before wasting your money.
