We have used plugin for many years, but this year, the license code to put on the activation page does
not type in… Just stays BLANK!!!! Apparently this happened to folks in past years, and I followed their
directions to fix it, but they didn’t work this time! I then uninstalled the cd version and did download version and the code worked to get the download, BUT AGAIN WOULD NOT TYPE IN THE ACTIVATION BOX. I’m very frustrated with plugin this year!!!

I’ve used plugin businesse since 1997 and learned to depend on it. This year they don’t know I exist! I can’t access past years, although they are stored where they put them on my Windows 10. I had to start over like a newby. Their calculation from my entered data are really wild. I cannot recommend TT to anyone! They have really gone wild.

Obviously the tie to Microsoft is more important than the customer.

I have used the plugin businesse “disc” format for many years. This year I get the “cannot be installed” message. I returned one and bought another and got the same message. Can anyone suggest another tax preparation product?

Every year the government makes changes to our tax laws! Until the government finalizes the changes, plugin can’t update their product. Therefore some areas of your tax return can’t be completed or they don’t even allow you to start your return in late Nov. or early Dec. plugin could be more open about why you can’t enter your return yet. But if they said it’s the government’s fault because they haven’t finished the tax rule changes yet, the government would be unhappy that plugin embarrassed them that way. For plugin it’s a NO WIN situation, either they anger the government or they anger early filers! Please be patient and wait a few weeks to start your return and the product will load and update automatically!

Trying to use HRB to compare year end strategy. Very awkward if you know what you want to put where AND some data is incorrectly captured by the program. Specifically, taxable gross distribution from IRA vs net after allowing for basis. On one of two taxpayers on joint return gross, return of investment and net are carried correctly to return but on other spouse, taxable vs basis got screwed up and a similar problem showed up on pensions. Not as serious, but annoying, was having to go back to input all of a series of questions just to attempt a “what if” scenario.
